Psychology Archetypes
Female Archetypes
The Mystic (SS)
Women with the Mystic archetype predominantly exhibit qualities of innocence, purity, maternal tenderness, softness, and profound femininity. They are often strikingly beautiful and naturally attract attention. While they may sometimes grapple with self-esteem issues, they become incredibly powerful and thrive once they own their feminine essence.
The Mystic is caring, compassionate, and often creative or artistic, appreciating the simple life. They may fulfill the role of a homemaker or traditional wife, but their inherent intelligence and social skills also make them well-suited for a career. Despite possessing high energy levels, they are prone to health issues and must prioritize keeping their immune system strong. A key developmental need for the Mystic is learning to establish healthy boundaries in relationships and friendships, which often requires them to consciously learn to say "No".
The Maiden (SS)
The Maiden archetype is characterized by a free-spirited, adventurous, passionate, and expressive nature coupled with emotional awareness. They are often viewed as the modern woman, defined by their strong independent nature and ability to be completely at home "hanging out with the boys." Despite this outward independence, their inner nature remains soft and feminine. Due to their exuberant vitality and capacity to offer their gifts to the world, they are considered the ultimate caretakers of the human race.
Often, the Maiden faces many challenging situations and obstacles in life that force them to grow, making them generally less innocent than the Mystic. They pursue a life of reckless honesty, self-reliance, and discipline balanced with free, uninhibited self-expression. They love adventures and the outdoors, but also deeply appreciate old-fashioned romance, poetry, and genuine connection. While they may be polite and restrained, showing attention to social etiquette, they perpetually long to be free and wild.
The Queen (DS)
Women who predominantly possess the Queen archetype are independent, professional, strong-willed, and regal, exhibiting a tendency toward perfectionism. They are frequently strikingly beautiful and can easily play the part of the sedactress. They carry a high degree of personal integrity and are aware that they are what many consider "high value," which sometimes makes them aloof.
The Queen's mind tends to wander and free associate, meaning her focus is not always singular, unlike the Huntress. She often jugles many projects and social situations, valuing her family and friends highly. She is deeply aware of social status and possesses a strong ability to read the dynamics in any situation. She is typically refined, skillful, sophisticated, and knowledgeable, enjoying fun and games. However, she can sometimes be perceived as self-absorbed, "snobby," or cold in her communication. Overall, she is a strong, modern woman who appreciates the quality of life in all its forms.
The Huntress (DD)
Women who embody the Huntress archetype are strong-willed and independent, often epitomizing the feminist personality expression of modern times. They possess great strength in body and mind, equipped with a determination and willfulness that allows them to meet many of life's battles and emerge stronger than before.
The Huntress is fair, honest, and noble, fueled by an optimistic energy that assures them nothing can hold them back from achieving their goals. Their focus is usually on career, work, or business, and they are often fierce advocates for noble causes. They frequently serve as an inspiration to those around them and are depended on for their guidance, encouragement, and support. Their nature is not necessarily soft and feminine in the traditional sense, a fact that bothers some Huntresses more than others. They can be very hard on themselves, sometimes presenting as stubborn or even controlling. They flourish best when they learn to be less critical and more accepting of a wide variety of life situations.
Male Archetypes
The Magician (SS)
The men who embody the Magician archetype are intuitive, creative, unique, and spiritual, priding themselves on their individuality. They are often highly intelligent, funny, innovative, and analytical, finding enjoyment in the challenges of developing their own skills and living life on their own terms. They are typically sensitive, empathic, compassionate "old souls" who seek to include all things in their all-encompassing philosophy.
The Magician is often drawn to the dark and shadowy depths to seek their truth, and they do not fit with conventional male stereotypes. While this may present a challenge to their self-esteem early in life, they learn to adapt and forge their own powerful masculine identity through the pursuit of perceptive powers and sometimes psychic or magical abilities.
The Knight (SD)
The men who embody the Knight (or Lover) archetype are often charming, romantic, and chivalrous, seeking to live a wild and untamed, adventurous life. They are typically helpful, salt-of-the-earth types of men who are proficient in trades and skills that require technical knowledge. Extroverted, confident, and outwardly focused in their social expression, they enjoy romance and treating women in the "old-fashioned" way with politeness and gestures.
The Knight usually places a high value on health, fitness, and self-development. They can be entrepreneurial, success-driven, and focused when it comes to business or endeavors that require commitment. Though capable of being very emotional and passionate, they maintain a foundation built on competence and dedication.
The King (DD)
Men who embody the King archetype are the most stereotypical "alpha male" expression of all the types. They are usually physically strong and mentally focused on achieving success. They are solid, reliable, and dependable, displaying strong loyalty when it comes to family and friends. Possessing strong personalities, they sometimes embody the workaholic expression, being very committed and hardworking.
Emotionally, they can tend to be young and sometimes a little ego-driven, which can be both their power and their downfall, depending on how they navigate their expression in the world. At their best, they are very inspiring and magnanimous, with a natural flair for performance and leadership. They are fierce in battle, fighting for what they think is a worthwhile cause, and seek to elevate others to their potential.
The Warrior (DS)
The men who embody the Warrior archetype are the inspiring, sophisticated, and advanced role models who can uplift those around them simply with their presence. They typically attain a high degree of professionalism and status in the community and are renowned and respected for what they do. They are social, smart, funny, and a lot of fun to be around.
The Warrior highly values skills, constantly working at refining or upgrading them to attain a state of perfection. They are usually well-traveled, educated, and worldly in their pursuits and interests. Often athletic, they tend to be lean and well-coordinated in sports and games. Competitive and status-seeking, their only downfall is that they can be too focused on image and tend to view everything as a competition on a subconscious level.
